J. Steinmetz Long Resident of Klamath, Dies William J. Steinmetz, for the past 34 years a resident of Klamath Falls, died at his home 917 Walnut Street, early Sunday following a lenghhy illness. Mr. Steinement is survived by his wife, Alfreda, a brother, Rev. m.J. Steinmetz of Alden, Kas., and one sister, mrs. Carrie Maier of Fairfax, Calif. forermly of this city. Mr. Steinmetz was born in Nazareth, Penn. Hew as 69 years, 7 months and 11 days at the time of his death. In 1907 he married Alfreda Galbraith in Denver, Colo., and in 1909 the Steimetz family came to Oregon and later to Klamath Falls, where they have resided since that time. Mr. Steinmetz was interested in the retail meat business and operated markets in teh city for 16 years. He had been retired for quite some tiem. He owns considerable property in both the town and country. For many years Mr. Steinmetz was interested in teh work of the Odd Fellows Lodge and served as the presiding officer, and also as a trustee of teh building committee. He was also a member of BPO Elks, No. 1247,; Prsperity Rebekah Lodge, No. 104, Klamath Lodge No. 37, IOOF, Ewauna Encampment, No. 46, and Canton Crater No. 7, Patriatchs Militant.
