William F. Mengel
William Mengel, Served Forks School Board
William F. Mengel, 83, Richmond Road, Forks Township, who served for a num ber of years on the Forks Consolidated School Board, died Saturday in t he Muhlenberg Medical Center, Bethlehem. He had been ill two years.

Born in Schuylkill County, he was a son of the Joseph and Ella Gehringer M engel. His stepmother was the late Elmira Banker Mengel. His wife, Anna M ay Babp, died in January 1952.

Mr. Mengel, a farmer, lived most of his life in Forks. He retired sever al years ago. He was of the Lutheran faith and was a former member of t he choir of the Forks Salem Union (Lutheran and Reformed) Church and a for mer member of the Tatamy Band.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edward Fehr, Easton; Mrs. Ralph Morr is and Mrs. Ray Klein, both of Easton R. D. 1, and Mrs. Russell Edlesto n, Titusville, Fla.; five sons, Martin, Nazareth; Alvin, Bangor R. D3; Wil mer, Winter park, Fla.; Lester, Easton, and Frank, Pen Argyl; four brother s, Herman, Palmyra; Allen, Campbelltown; Elmer, Orefield, and Ralph, a nd a sister, Mrs. Edward Johnson, both in California; 39 grandchildren a nd 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be ehld at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Schmidt Mortuar y, Nazareth.

Funeral services for William F. Mengel, Forks Township R. D. 1, who died S aturday in Muhlenberg Medical Center, were held this afternoon in the Schm idt Funeral Home, Nazareth.

The Rev. Otto G. Struckman of Faith Lutheran Church officiated. Interme nt was in Forks Church Cemetery. The pallbearers were Ronald, Morris and S tephen Mengel and Bery Berton, Arthur and Earl DeWalt.
