Anna E. Stamets, 81, of 650 Corliss Ave., Phillipsburg, died tuesday in t he Eastwood Convalescent Home, Wilson, where shehad been a guest since Apr il 1981.
Early in her life she was empllyued by the old Stewart Silk Mill and the f ormer Continental Silk Mill, both Easton.
Born Sept 24, 1900, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late William a nd Matilda Sigafoos Knoble. She lived in the Phillipsburg area all her li fe.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Straw Church, the Luther an Church Women and a former member of the missionary Society and Friendsh ip Group of the church.
Her husband, Amos Stamets, died in 1964.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thomas F. McGinley, Phillipsburg; two broth ers, Thomas Knoble, Phillipsburg, and William Knoble, Morris Park, Lopatoc ong Township; a sister, Mrs. Howard S. Sigafoos, Huntington, Pohatcong Tow nship, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in St. James Church. Interment wi ll be in St. James Cemetery. The Rupell Funeral Home, Phillisbur g, is in charge of arrangments. |
